Kano Government Launches Campaign Against Meningitis, Vows To Run Smooth Exercise

The State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje on Monday expressed optimism that the on-going meningitis immunization exercise (MEN A) for children between 1-7 years old across the state would be smooth.


This is contained in a statement issued to RAVENS  NEWSLINE by the Public Relations officer at the Ministry of Health, Ismail Garba Gwammaja in Kano.


According to Gwammaja, the Governor who was represented by the state commissioner of health,  Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa made this known while inspecting the state of healthcare services across the forty four local government areas of the state, shortly after flagging off the campaign against meningitis at Danlasan village in Warawa local government area.


The commended parents and other care givers in Albasu and Ajingi local government areas for their concern and love to improving the health status of their children by bringing them in mass to the immunization fixed post to access the free services rendered by Kano state government in its effort to protect children from the disease.


He enjoined all the health workers participating in the campaign to report to their assigned duty on time and ensure to stay up to the stipulated time so as to cover the targeted population in their various settlements.


Responding, the vice chairman Ajingi local government area, Imam Mohammad and the Primary health Care coordinator of Albasu Abdulrazak Usman, said the visit is timely and would help them to be on the same page with the state and pledged to work tirelessly to achieve the set objectives.
