Kano Police Command Arrests Over 113 Suspected Criminals, Recovers Vehicles, Substances Worth Millions Of Naira.

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Habu A. Sani on Wednesday said that the fight against kidnapping, drug abuse and other criminal cases is yielding positive result in the state, since assumption in office.

CP Habu who made this known during press briefing at the state police headquarters, said the command has arrested 113 suspected criminals connected to various act, confiscated substances worth millions of Naira.

The CP narrated that his men have on 20th November 2019 arrested one Sulaiman Abdullahi, 20 years, suspected to engage in kidnapping a four year old victim in Ungogo local government area of Kano, adding that the subject would be charged to court after investigation is completed.

"On the 25rh November, 2019 we have received from one Bello Jafaru (male) and Muhammad Abdullahi (male) all of Kogon Kura village and Ado Ibrahim (male) of Zango village all in Gwarzo local government area of Kano state that some suspected armed robbers/kidnappers contacted them through their phones demanding them to bring the sum of N1,750,000." CP Habu said.

He stated that the criminals were arrested following his directive to the security operatives team of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of Operation Puff-Adder to bring the perpetrators to book.

"Our men have also succeeded in containing some people suspected to be kidnappers, a group of people suspected to be kidnappers with some dangerous firearms, and immediately when they saw the presence of policemen, they started shooting sporadically but they were still able to arrest one Usman Yusuf aka Samarta (male, 20 years), Rabi'u Kabir Muhammad (male, 19 years) and Safiyanu A. Sagir (male, 25 years) all of Fada village in Gwarzo local government areas of Kano state." The CP said.


The Police Commissioner however said that following an intelligence report by the command, on the 25th November 2019 the Special Anti-Robbery Team Squad of Operation Puff-Adder have led a patrol and arrested two people suspected to be armed robbers, Sabi'u Dahiru (male, 21 years) and Hussaini M. Abbas (male, 22 years) at different locations, adding that investigation is in progress.

He said four people all suspected to have committed criminal conspiracy, trespassing, motorcycle snatching and theft were arrested by the team of operation Puff-Adder and two different motorcycles were recovered while on surveillance patrol.

CP Habu however narrated how his men of the Nigerian Police arrested a suspect a suspect for snatching tricycle valued N1,000,000, in Gaida, an area in Kano metropolis, recovered another tricycle loaded with 34 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp along Zaria Road, Kano, arrest of one Chimeze Nneji (male) of Anambra and Jochuckwu Victor (male) of Sabon-gari area in possession of 14 rolls of Tramadol tablets valued over N2,000,000 among other seizures worth millions of Naira.

He commended Kano state citizens for their support in fighting against all sort of criminal activities across the state, stating that there would be no hiding place for the criminals in the state.
