Kano Government Enrolls Over 60 Percent Of Civil Servants In Contributory Healthcare Scheme.

The executive secretary of the Kano state contributory healthcare management agency Dr Halima Muhammad Mijinyawa has said that sixty nine percent of the civil servants in the state have been enrolled in the state contributory healthcare scheme.
Dr. Mijinyawa stated this on Wednesday while presenting the progress report recorded by her agency to the new commissioner of health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa.
In a statement issued to newsmen by public relations officer of the agency, Muhammad Nura Yusuf, said Dr. mijinyawa congratulated the commissioner on his appointment, expressing optimism that his emergence as commissioner would project the health sector to a greater height.
She said although, health sector has significantly recorded successes in the state, there are challenges her agency is facing, which include non-adherence of Health Facilities to the operational guidelines of the scheme among others.
"Our agency is now scaling up its services to informal sector which include none civil servants that can equally be enrolled into the scheme through vital contributory programme, and i want to assure you that the agency is working towards integrating the retired civil servants into the scheme." Dr. Halima Mijinyawa said.
The Executive Director however congratulated the new commissioner and pray to Almighty Allah to guide him and give him the wisdom to take the health sector to a better not level.
On his part the Hon. Commissioner of health Dr. Aminu Ibrahim tsanyawa, appreciated the executive secretary for the visit which he described as historic one.
Dr. Tsanyawa however applauded the effort of the executive secretary and her management team for the achievements recorded and promised his total support to the entire health sector.
The commissioner noted the importance of the agency in achieving universal health coverage, therefore, pledges to reform the sector through re-orientation and continuous capacity building of the health workers for effective and efficient service delivery in the state’s health by sector.
