  • I am far ahead of Yari and his master, Yarima in politics.

  • In the year 2013 purchased firearms to to Yan'sakai and we have evidence that he is the one controlling them.

The Zamfara state government on Sunday said that it has identified some few politicians in the opposition APC the peace progress of governor Matawalle's led-administration in the state.

This was revealed during a press conference by the Director General Press Affairs to Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle, Jamilu in Gusau, the Zamfara state capital.

Jamilu said that of the opposition party members destructing the peace progress in the state are doing it for the sake of their personal gains and not the development of Zamfara.

It was learnt that the press briefing followed the reaction of the state's APC on the Gummi local council's attack by bandits which left dozen of people dead and several more injured.

"the previous administration must be ashamed of leaving behind security issues for this government as they bury their faces in shame for the fact that Allah has helped Matawalle to solve these banditry activities within his first 100 days in office." Jamilu said.

Jamilu narrated that Zamfara government has has expressed displeasure following that absence of former governor, Abdul-Aziz Yari to attend a security committee meeting led by former Inspector General of Police, M D Abubakar set up by Governor Matawalle to find lasting solutions to the banditry activities in the state.

"the committee invited some former governors, deputies and other leaders to come and make inputs more especially the immediate past Chief Executive of the state who the committee believed will help in its assignment but for mere political anger and lack of concern, refused to even acknowledge the invitation and further went on to stop his former cabinets from attending." he narrated.

Jamilu however said the government has expressed dismay that the state APC members were speculating that governor Matawalle was out of the country when the Gummi carnage took place, until the government issued a release that governor Matawalle has set up a high powered delegation led by his deputy, His Excellency, Barrister Mahdi Ali-Gusau to pay condolence visit to the attack victims.

He said it would be recalled that the governor had to cancel his proposed Germany trip because of the attack and summoned an emergency security meeting which was attended by all heads of security agencies in the state.

He said when Yari was in charge and there was an attack in Yar'galadima village area of Maru local government where hundreds were massacred, he only visited the village briefly and moved straight out of the country, alleging that sometimes Yari had to be forced by his colleagues to come to the state when over 100 innocent souls were killed in Birane village of Zurmi local government area among other places in the state.

He said that the the recent attacks on some communities were taken by members of the outlawed Yansakai group who Yari in the year 2013 purchased firearms to and recruited 8,000 of them from across the state and the current government has every evidence that Yari is the one controlling them.

On the issue of Yari's gatherings at his residence, Talata-Mafara, Jamilu quoted Matawalle as saying that his administration has recognized that the former governor Yari has only the freedom of movement in Zamfara but banned from constituting political gathering, adding that Matawalle is far ahead of Yari and Yarima in politics since 1992 when Yari and his Yarima godfather did not even know politicking.

"I can tell you without fear of contradiction that this APC blind followers are money mongers who specialize in deceiving their principal and will use every available space to cause disharmony and turn around to collect money from their former boss and once they see that they are broke again, they will cause another problem and security breach easily comes to play for them which is why his excellency, governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle has to strongly warn the head so that the followers will abide and fall in line, a word is enough for the wise." he said.
