KAROTA Confiscates Illegal Substances Worth Millions Of Naira In Kano.

The Kano Road and Traffic Agency (KAROTA) on Wednesday confiscated Tire Solution worth N20 Million in Sabon Gari Area of the State metropolis.

In a statement issued to newsmen by the Agency's Public Relations Officer, Nabilusi Abubakar Kofar Na'isa, confirmed the story.

Nabilusi said that the seizure came following an intelligence gathering by the KAROTA operatives that the substances were stored in a house on Emir Road, Sabon Gari.

The Public Relations Officer who said the Agency is part of the State's Task Force against Drug abuse and Supply of Hard Drugs in Kano,  said that the personnel raided the house on Wednesday after obtaining a Court Order to brake into the premises and confiscated over 157 cartons substances, adding that the illegal products were evacuated from the building.

That the Managing Director, Baffa Dan'agundi warned that the agency would continue to do everything necessary and within its jurisdiction to call road users to order against violating traffics rules in the state.

Lamenting the rampant case of consuming illegal substances in the state, Dan'agundi said only God knows the level of danger the state would have gone into if the substance were gotten into the public.

Baffa further explained that analysis have shown that most cases of reckless driving, over speeding and beating traffic are all associated with consumption of hard drugs by some drivers.

KAROTA MD however warned drivers to desist from engaging selves into drug addiction as it leads to loss of lives and properties.
