Zamfara Government Commends Media For Enlightening Public On Routine Immunization.

The Zamfara State Deputy Governor and Chairman State Routine Immunization Committee, Barrister Mahdi Aliyu Muhammad Gusau, has commended  media for playing a vital role in helping parents understand the importance of routine immunization through the intensification of public enlightenment and mass mobilization for people's awareness.

He made the commendation the during a  flagging off ceremony of measles and men "A" vaccination exercise conducted at Birnin Magaji Local Government.

According to him, without the support of the media the exercise will not receive too much attention and therefore will not be a success story.

The Deputy Governor also appreciated the administration of Governor Bello Muhammad (Matawallen Maradun) for focusing heavily on rural dwellers and the vulnerable population in the society with emphasis on women and children.

He said, the State Government is resolute in providing succour to the underserved communities while at the same time providing essentials for the general well-being of other segments of the society.

Barrister Mahdi Aliyu further said, the vision of Governor Matawalle is to accelerate the process of strengthening Primary Health-Care Under One Roof which shall serve as score board for implementing free material, neonatal and child health care services in the State.

The Chairman of the State Committee for the exercise also appreciated the level of contributions of all the critical stakeholders, most especially the traditional rulers who were always at the point of door to door sensitisation and implementation process of routine immunization in the State.

He addad that, The Government owe it as a duty to reach out every child with a view to achieving the goal of eliminating the disease.

 He further assured the people of Government's readiness to adequately support health sector in the state for effective service delivery.
